The first “unofficial” launch of The Vrede Foundation took place on 16th of December 2008 courtesy of Punkskelm Productions.
A screening of the 12mile road documentary and performances by aKING, Ashtray Electric, New Holland all contributed to a good crowd showing their support for local music and cancer awareness raising a total of R13’000.
Thanks again to Brendan Sterley from Punkskelm Productions as well as the boys from aKING, Ashtray Electric and New Holland for making it all possible: you have no idea the good you are doing.
The first Vrede Fest took place on Saturday February 14th in Pretoria at Hatfield Square.

Thanks to all the bands; Klopjag, Ef-el, Crash Car Burn, Wonderboom and Van Coke Kartel!! Without you, there would not have been a Vrede Fest. Everyone that attended had a fabulous time and the foundation is now well and truly operational.
Thanks also to the Cuervo Tequila team, MK, Hatfield Square and everyone that made the day a reality!
